DIY – Free Wedding Invitation Templates

Summer is coming, I am hoping it won’t be too terribly hot this year. So far, the weather has been absolutely glorious here in North Carolina. I know several people who are getting married this summer and I was inspired to share some awesome free wedding invitation templates with you guys. I don’t know about you but I made my own wedding invitations because it is much cheaper than ordering them online. Is it easier to order online? Yes! But…I enjoy making things so I did them myself. I have also made my sister-in-law’s wedding invitations which I will share below and another friend of mine that got married a few years ago. Once you fill out the template, it is very easy to take them to Staples or Office Depot to get them printed. Then you just need to buy a box of envelopes that will fit the size and mail them off!

These days you don’t really need an RSVP card like they used to do. Most people just ask that you RSVP by emailing them or calling them by a certain date to let you know if they are coming or not. There is no need to add an extra little envelope with stamps…when a simple email will get the job done.

Zazzle is a very popular website to buy wedding invitations. If you order your invites on there, they are usually around $1.50-$2 a card. If you are inviting 100 people/families, that is $150-$200 for wedding invites. When we created my sister-in-law’s wedding invites, they were 5×7, we printed them on a pretty card stock and it cost $50 to send to about 130 people/families. MUCH cheaper! Okay so below are some great templates. If you need any help putting one together, do not hesitate to contact me. Enjoy!

This invitation is what we used for my sister-in-law’s wedding. It was the cutest invitation!!! It is a little more involved. I think I had to install a free trial version of Adobe Illustrator so I could add the text exactly like what they have. Again, if you have any questions, contact me and I can certainly help.

Wedding Invitation by Mountain Modern Life

This is a simple rustic invite. If you go to the website, it gives you instructions for how to fill in the template. If you want to get this look, you would just need to print them on a dark colored cardstock:

This invitation has a more elegant look to it. It’s nice because they have a little program on it where you can type in the text you want and then download it when you are done.

I thought this was adorable. You can choose either black or the blue invite. The one you see is the blue. Again, they tell you exactly what to do when you click on the link below the photo

This one is very simple but very cute. It was on the Zazzle store, but they were generous to turn it into a freebie!
