BBQ Chicken Pita Pizzas

I am sure many of you love pizza, and may have even made homemade pizza for a fun family night meal. Have you ever considered using pita bread as the crust? This makes a very thin crust pizza which is our favorite kind! It is also healthier for you thank pizza dough. These BBQ Chicken Pita Pizzas make a delicious dinner for those that are craving pizza but don’t want all the calories. The best thing about these, is after I am done eating them I don’t feel bloated and fat like I do when I eat regular pizza. 

First you will want to preheat your oven to 350 degrees. We put grilled chicken on them at the very end and they are soooo good! I got my whole wheat pitas from Trader Joes and cut them in half. Then I took some olive oil and spread it all over the pita

After that, I took some Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce, drizzled and spread it on top of the olive oil

After that, start loading your toppings. For these, we like to put pineapple, mozzarella cheese, green pepper, red onion, and black beans. Once you are done putting on your toppings, place them in the oven and cook for 6 minutes (we will add the grilled chicken next).

You should already have your grilled chicken cut up and ready to put on the pizzas. Once you add the chicken, put them back in the oven for another 2 minutes.

Once that is done, we garnish them with some cilantro and slice it into 4 squares and it’s ready! I usually put a little ranch on the side to dip them in as well. If you are looking for a healthy ranch dressing, you should get the Boathouse classic ranch yogurt dressing. It is a lot healthier than getting Hidden Valley! I hope you enjoy these delicious pizzas! Ingredients
  1. 2 grilled chicken breasts with your favorite seasoning diced small
  2. olive oil
  3. Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce
  4. red onion
  5. pineapple
  6. black beans
  7. green pepper
  8. cilantro
  9. ranch dressing (optional)
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350
  2. Spread olive oil on pitas, then drizzle and spread the BBQ sauce
  3. Add your red onion, pineapple, black beans, and green pepper and cook for 6 minutes
  4. Add your grilled chicken and cook another 2 minutes
  5. Slice with a pizza cutter and top with cilantro and ranch (optional)
